When Miss Janet and Miss Whitney took stage to perform, not only did they have the audience and viewers at home out of their seats, they displayed class and let the young kids what it takes to become Icons. Miss Janet opened the show performing a medley of her hits including "Control," "What Have You Done For Me Lately," "Miss You Much" "If," "Make Me" and a touching version of her top charting House hit "Together Again" and what made the performance of the latter touching was the camera shots of Reba McEntire who had lost her band in a plane crash in 1991. When McEntire came to the stage to introduced Carrie Underwood, she looked very graceful and didn't act stuck up. When Whitney took stage, it was a wrap!! Not only did she sounded great, she strolled around the stage in her firece gown as to say, "I'm back and yes I'm a Pop Diva, but honey I will never forget I grew up in the hood, and a real hood chick has class!" It was good to finally see how receive the International award and I loved how she acknowledged her daughter Bobbi Kristina and the fans for sticking by her. Shakira's performance was good and I loved how she had females of different shades and with nice sized thighs, while Alicia Keys did her thing performing with Jay-Z, who failed to mentoned his wife, who wasn't there (I wondering was she upset that she wasn't gonna be the main attraction that night), while Jennifer Lopez gave one of the best performances of her life (It's about tiem she started hiring men of all shades and ethnicities).
It was also touching to see Taylor Swift acknowledging Michael Jackson who she shocking beat out in the Artist of the year category. You could tell by the look on her face that she was shocked, but she acknowledge the family for reaching out to her after the VMA's (It was good that Kanye wasn't there to mess things up).
I also loved the Black Eye Peas' performance, (Fergie showed the world she got some serious pips) and Carrie Underwood did her thang.
As always Michael and Janet's big brother Jermaine, the unofficial spokesperson for The Jackson family accepted the awards that his little brother won, but he didn't even acknowledge and thank his baby brother Randy, who took his spot in the group when he left and co-wrote the family's biggest selling sinlge.
I would love for the AMA'S to have host, because it makes the show more interesting.
