MICHAEL JACKSON ENTERS MUSICAL HEAVEN

THIS IS A TRIBUTE TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE ENTERTAINERS MICHAEL JACKSON
HIS NAME IS NOT WACKO JACKSON
HIS NAME IS MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON AND IF YOU TABLOID JUNKIES DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT I'M FOCUSING ON HIS MUSIC CAREER AND THE POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO MUSIC AND HUMANITY, 2 DAMN BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was on my way to Brooklyn College, my sister called me and told me that Michael Jackson had died. I was shocked. I continued to get calls and texts from my mother, sister and longtime friends about his passing, and knowing how the tabloids bashed him, I wanted to confirm for myself, and it was sad and true; he had died from a Cardiac Arrest.

I have been a fan of Michael since 1978, when he was being interviewed on Good Morning America when he was promoting his movie "The Wiz" and I remember he was being well spoken, polite and down to earth. A few months later, Me, my mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grandmother went to see the movie and I was eager to see him
"You'll see him soon" my moms told me.

A few months later, my mother brought me his classic album "Off The Wall" and I became hooked. The music had touched me in many ways that I can't explain. I would draw album covers and put my name on the credits on paper.
By the time "Thriller" had dropped, I became a huge fan and felt a connection to him, though I've never met him (I did take my sister to a awards show where Michael was honored, and I remember him waving at me and making eye contact and I started going crazy, though I was 23 at the time). It seemed he had a spirit and a charm that made you want to protect him and read people who dare disrespected him, and I know that if a fucking tabloid calls him by that ridiculous name, they're gonna get their feelings hurt.
Plus he also displayed unconditional love for people. For a Black man to have Blacks, Whites, Latinos, Rich, Poor, Middleclass, dancing and singing to music is amazing, and for him to incorporates all types of music togehter showed the industry that you shouldn't put a person in a category based on the color of their skin.
I was on the phone with a friend who told me that Michael was the artist who got him into music and it upsets him that now the media wants to focus on more of the positive things he has done while he was on earth and how some of the young kids needs to know that the moves that Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, and Justin Timberlake got are from him, while his music has been sampled and remade by many artists as well.
Michael has helped me appreaciate all types of music, and his music has helped me through many trying times, including the death of my great-grand mother, my grandmohter, and has inspired me to pursue an interest in music, writing, and to major in communications and journalism, and I've written several reviews of his music.
As I sit here and listen to "Fall Again" I wanna "Cry" and "Scream" but it's hard but I wanna Remember The Time (the good times) that he brought to my life and to the music industry.

In addition to music, he has donated millions of dollars to charities and never made a big deal about it.
He also paved the way for many artists including Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, 3T, Another Bad Creation, Kriss Kross, Lloyd, Ginuwine, Sisqo, Justin Timberlake, especially the formers to have their videos played on MTV.

All I can say is that Michael, you have Gone Too Soon. You are a part of HIStory, and I wanna thank you for telling us to watch out for the Billie Jeans who can lead you to the Blood On The Dance Floor and to be Invinceable, and to live life Off The Wall. I'm gonna Burn This Disco out this weekend and I'm gonna Jam, and Shake My Body To The Ground and move my body like a Centerpede.

Thanks for the music. I miss you, I love you and I will keep your memory alive.

Love
Ra Shawn Chisolm
